The Unified CPN (Maoist) on Saturday started a one week physical and ideological training in Gulmi district as according to the party’s directives.
The training camp started in Devighat located in the district’s area No. 2 citing that this was for self defense in view of the World Labourers’ Day on 1 May.
The camp was inaugurated by Maoist central member Dinesh Panthi. According to YCL central member and Gulmi district chairman Gyan Kumar Budha, the 2-5 hundred YCL activists from the district’s 79 VDCs will be taking part in the training.
In the training the trainees will be taught to use baton and Khukuri and other physical exercise techniques. More than 250 YCL activists have taken part in the programme. Women’s participation in the training is 15%.
The training will be imparted by YCL central member Arjun Budha including 16 other activists.
